How Did I Do Resolution-Wise?

I've been dreading this post because I didn't think I did particularly well at keeping my 2015 crafting resolutions.  Don't get me wrong.  I normally like posting.  Owning up to my crafty shortcomings was what I didn't want to face.  However, looking at my 2015 resolutions post, I realized that I did a little better than I thought!

Let's see, first I wanted to finish some WIPs.  Does one count?  Jasmine Mix by Just Nan was my only WIP completion of the whole year.  It is one of my smaller WIPs, so I'll have to give myself a C.
Next up was stitching one Christmas ornament per month, which I quickly changed to one every other month.  I fell waaaaaaay short on this one.  I completed a total of 2.  Not a total fail, but I think I deserve a D for this.

I also wanted to attempt some crafting ideas I'd been saving on Pinterest.  Guess what! This was a complete success.  What, you say?  You totally skipped December's Pinterest project!  Yes, I did not complete a December project, but what can I say?  It's DECEMBER.  I'm lucky if I get anything done in December.  Anyway, 11 out of 12 months of Pinterest projects is pretty darn good.  I'm giving myself a generous A!  By the way, my August project was my favorite Pinterest attempt.
My next resolution centered around crochet.  I was supposed to learn new stitches and attempt a crochet project.  Did it happen?  Nope.  I'll do better this year.  For Christmas, Stephanie gave me some beautiful yarn that she got when she was in Ireland.  This will be great inspiration to pick up the crochet hook.  Then I might feel better about the F that I earned for this.

As if I needed more resolutions, here's another one from 2015.  I intended to learn new Christmas cross stitch ornament finishing techniques.  Pretty much a "no" for this resolution.  I did finish one though, so can I have an F+?  It is cute and it has a charm on it.  Maybe a D-?  I think I just forgot about this one.
And last but certainly not least, there was the resolution to organize the craft room.  I did amazingly well with organizing and cleaning.  Here it is January, 2016 and I can still find stuff!  It makes me so happy to have really succeeded with this resolution.  Definitely an A+!

So now what?  Do I make more resolutions?  I don't know.  I know that I do want to spend more time with the cross stitch this year.  And I still intend to pursue my Pinterest pin collection and attempt my one-per-month again.  In fact, I started one today.  It's far from done, but I think it has a lot of potential.  So stay tuned to see what my crafty self creates.

I hope that you all have a very Happy New Year!

  1. Why not make yourself a list of hopes for 2016? I read on another blog that was the route she was going instead of making resolutions. Makes sense to me!

  4. You sound like you did a great job to me! You got lots achieved.... I have really enjoyed seeing your Pinterest makes.... they have been great! I shall look forward to seeing the new project you have started. I don't start with a list of things that I want to achieve.... I start with blank list and add things as I make them.... it is very satisfying to see the list grow! Hope 2016 is a wonderful year for you! Christine x

  5. Don't make resolutions, just enjoy the crafting ride. I just make sure that I have a list of WIPs where I can see it so that each month something different gets attention. If that means a WIP gets finished it is a bonus. I try to aim for one (or two) complete finished per year. I am never disappointed then. I really like your WIP finish. So pretty.
