Hibernating In The Heat

The near record temperatures around here have sent me into the house, where I am endlessly thankful for good air conditioning.  I mean, when your thermometer looks like this, the indoors are where it's at.
You're not seeing things.  This photo was taken last Friday afternoon.  Scary, huh?  I have been making good use of my hermitting time by reading a lot and of course, stitching.  I started on Red, White and Bloom, but not enough for an interesting photo since I've done mostly the "white".  The colors used in this chart are very pretty though, which is one of my main requirements for fun stitching.

It has really made my day to see that I now have 83 followers!  I'm still making plans for a giveaway when I get to 100.  This is going to be a GOOD giveaway!  More information will follow as I get closer to that magic number 100!

The good news is that our temperatures are supposed to fall in the next couple of days -- to the 80's.  Still hot, but after seeing my car temp at 102, I'll take it.

  1. Yikes! The first full day after we got to Texas the temperature was 108. That's pretty normal around here, though, I think. Now when it's in the mid-90s we consider it a cool, beautiful day. It's a little crazy how quickly a standard can change!

  2. My goodness Cathy! I'm suck a wimp. I complain and stay in when our weather is is 90+ and humid. Don't know how you do it girlfriend. This is the first year down here that I am really looking forward to the late fall and the cooler weather that comes with it. This has been a very hot and humid summer.
